24 Percent of Republicans think Obama is the Antichrist

You people have got to be frickin’ kidding me!

Twenty-four percent, like, almost one in four, presumably rational, thinking, breathing adult humans?

The real Antichrist?

No shit?

Oh, wait.  Well, I found this, so maybe you are right, after all:

Luke 21:20-33 (King James Version): “And when ye shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that the desolation thereof is nigh. Then let them which are in Judaea flee to the mountains; and let them which are in the midst of it depart out; and let not them that are in the countries enter thereinto. For these be the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled. But woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck, in those days! for there shall be great distress in the land, and wrath upon this people. And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled. And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; Men’s hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken. And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh. And when those events come to pass, verily, those that cannot afford health insurance will be given adequate coverage, subsidized based on income, in order to make it affordable for all citizens, young and old, poor and middle class, unwell and healthy.  And lo, I say unto you, on the twenty-third day of the third month in our lord’s year two thousand and ten, the Great Black Demon known as Potus will call forth his devilish minions in the legislature to finalize and celebrate their great victory of evil by signing into law the complete socialist takeover of the government, thus signaling the end times.  And he spake to them a parable; Behold the fig tree, and all the trees; When they now shoot forth, ye see and know of your own selves that summer is now nigh at hand. So likewise ye, when ye see these things come to pass, know ye that the kingdom of God is nigh at hand. Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass away, till all be fulfilled. Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away.”

HOW DID WE MISS THIS?!?!?!?!

But Em, it’s 24 percent of Repubs who think he could be the Antichrist. The 14 percent figure is for all Americans!

AM is right. There are also a significant number outside of the GOP who think that Obama is the Antichrist – all of them, GOP or otherwise with reasonable cause.

Of course I think but can’t prove – the polls, unsurprisingly with our MSM, were never conducted before Obama – that a similar overall 14% figure would have been found for most previous POTUS’s. The nature of the job lends itself to eschatological reference and comparison.

Am – I was being overly optimistic. 24% of Republicans, 14% of all Americans. I’m guessing 100% of tea partiers makes up any difference in this freakshow, but I haven’t seen the data.

    Jonolan,

“that a similar overall 14% figure would have been found for most previous POTUS’s.”

Hilarious, thanks. Are these the same 14% each time or no? Because they don’t have a great track record so far.

Are you from FB or elsewhere, if I may ask?

As I said, I’m guessing based upon my study of various End Times traditions and believers, but can’t prove anything. That being said, I’d estimate that it would, in general be the same 14%.

Of course I think that 14% is about the number of Americans who hold some level of belief that the End Times either are here or will be here soon – and that number has held steady for a number of decades.
